Our work
Guidance &
advocacy..
|
The RSPCA strives to represent the moderate voice on animal
welfare issues and works with governments, legislators and
industry, on both state and federal levels, to bring about changes
to improve animal welfare.
Opinions and guidance are constantly being sought from RSPCA
Australia by governments and decision makers on a whole range of
animal welfare issues. RSPCA Australia is represented on major
committees such as:-
- the National Consultative Committee on Animal Welfare (NCCAW)
which advises the Federal Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries
and Forestry;
- the Livestock Advisory Committee (LAC); and
- National Health & Medical Research Council (NH&MRC)
Code Liaison Group.
RSPCA Australia also provides comment to Environment Australia
on an array of topics which are as diverse as kangaroo management
plans to representation on the non-government organisations'
International Whaling Commission committee.
