Take Action
- Prime Minister, your Government was elected on a mandate to raise the moral bar of Australian politics. To do what's in the national interest not what's in the political interest.
- Live animal exports are not in the national interest. They bring shame on Australia and Australia's export industry.
- How can you justify the animal suffering for an industry that contributes so little to the Australian economy compared with our booming meat export industry?
- How can your Agriculture Minister say he is proud of our live export industry when he has only seen what the industry wants him to see?
- Before the 2007 election, the Labor party promised to reconsider live exports yet that commitment was quickly abandoned when you took Government.
- Please show the political courage that your predecessors couldn't muster up. Stand up for Australian animals and commit to replacing live exports with an increased meat trade. It will be good for our economy, good for jobs and good for animals.
